Lessons Lucious Lyon Can Teach LeBron James

So after Iman Shumpert claimed that Empire was based off him, we pretty much stopped trying to mix the show and the NBA.  Terrence Howard made it clear that he had no clue who Shumpert was in the following clip:

Don't let being out the game dictate your influence on the game
LeBron James' team needs him if they plan on winning a championship.  As King James continues to age it will not be possible for him to play every game of the season.

LeBron will be forced to support his team from the sidelines similar to the way Lucious Lyon had to support Empire from the sideline when he was sent to prison:

Lucious Lyon created one of the most celebrated songs of his career while he was sidelined.  LeBron will need to learn how to do the same when he is not able to play this season.

LeBron James' team must understand that more is expected out of them when King James does not play.  It is not a game off for them, instead it is a game on.

Motivate teammates to lead
When Lucious found out he was sick he challenged his sons to battle it out for leadership roles.  LeBron James stats make it clear that it is easy for teammates to become complacent when they are playing alongside the King.

If LBJ wants to win more Chips he can no longer accept his teammates simply following his lead.  LeBron James stats must be ignored and his teammates must step it up and become leaders.

Focus on versatility
LeBron James football career is often referenced to show off his speed and power.  Despite the fact that LBJ is now 30, he must continue to focus on becoming a more versatile player if he hopes to lead Cleveland to a Championship.

Lucious Lyon's ability to adapt is seen through him handling Cookie, producing Jamal and schooling Hakeem.  For LeBron, different teams will lead him to play different positions from game-to-game and he must be able to adapt rapidly to lead the Cavs to success.
