3 Reasons LeBron James Should Win the 2014-15 MVP Award

Bleacher Report recently posted an article on LeBron James potentially becoming the fourth player in NBA History to win at least five MVP awards.   The other players to win at least five MVP awards were Michael Jordan, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Bill Russell.  Here are five reasons LeBron deserves to win the 2014-15 NBA MVP Award:

ONE
The Real King James
All Ball recently recently posted an article discussing James Harden being the new King James.  This came after the Rockets defeated the Cavs in overtime.  Harden is averaging more points and rebounds than James and the Rockets currently have a few more wins than the Cavs.  Harden has played in all 62 games this season whereas James has played in 54 explaining the fact that the Cavs have won fewer games than the Rockets.

Moreover, sportsmanship is a major component of an NBA MVP and Harden kicking LBJ in the groin area proves that he lacks the sportsmanship to be MVP.  The NBA should not reward misbehavior.  LBJ has led his team to the #2 spot in the East whereas the Rockets are #3 in the West.  The San Antonio Spurs are 7th in the West with a 39-23 record.  Harden and the Rockets have not set themselves apart from the bottom of their conference with a 43-20 record.  LeBron's Cavaliers on the other hand, hold a much better record than the 7th team in the East, the Charlotte Bobcats, who have a 28-33 record.  LBJ is also averaging more assists per game and he maintains a higher shooting percentage than Harden.

TWO
LBJ averages more points and rebounds than Stephen Curry.  If LBJ would not have had to miss games due to injury, the Cavs would have the same record as the Warriors.  Needless to say: LBJ's defense is better than Curry's.  A few months ago, ESPN reported that Curry's defense has improved.  Curry's defensive rating was tied with Tony Allen's at 83.9 which is impressive for a player that has been criticized about his defense his entire career.  Another reason Curry does not deserve the MVP award over LBJ begins with Klay and ends with Thompson:

Kyrie is great but Klay has helped the Warriors immensely.  We also cannot forget about the fact that LeBron owned the Warriors a week ago.  Curry played horrible:

THREE
The one and only reason LBJ would not win the 2014-15 MVP award is because people are tired of seeing him win.  No one faces more undeserved criticism than LeBron.  There are the Jordan fans that believe LBJ received too much credit too early.  There are the Kobe fans that are disgusted with the fact that LBJ has replaced Kobe as the best player in the NBA.  Prior to LBJ's return to Cleveland former fans were burning his jersey in Ohio.  Do no penalize the King for being a King.  LBJ, 2014-15 MVP.
